Department of Botany

The Department of Botany, The Women University Multan, is a leading academic and research-oriented department offering BS (since 2013), M.Phil (since 2015), and Ph.D. (since 2020) programs. Committed to excellence in teaching, innovation, and entrepreneurship, the Department promotes innovation-driven and applied research in areas such as plant-based product development, medicinal plants, bioplastics, and sustainable utilization of plant resources. In alignment with HEC quality standards, the Department continuously updates its curricula and research practices to integrate commercialization, interdisciplinary collaboration, and entrepreneurial skills, supported by funded research projects and strong industry and community linkages, thereby producing job creators who contribute to Pakistan’s scientific progress, sustainability, and knowledge-based economy.

Wum-Botanics Society bridges academic botany with real-world impact by fostering research, hands-on learning, and entrepreneurial thinking. Through workshops, field expeditions, and sustainable initiatives, we equip students with the skills to pioneer plant-based innovations, advocate for conservation, and shape the future of bio-industries.
