Welcome to Department of Public Health


Department of Public Health is functional since 2022 in The Women University, Multan with commitment to promoting the health and well-being of individuals and communities through education, research, service, and advocacy. We are dedicated to addressing the diverse health challenges faced by our society, with a focus on prevention, health equity, and sustainable health systems.

The scope of public health extends far beyond hospitals and clinics, reaching into policy-making, research, health education, disaster management and emergency preparedness and community-based interventions. Career opportunities include Public Health Officer, Epidemiologist, Health Education Specialist, Environmental Health Officer, Health Program Manager, Community Health Worker, NGO Project Coordinator, Research Assistant/Scientist, Healthcare Administrator, International Health (like WHO, UNICEF, and Red Cross)

Mission

Our mission is to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and to prepare skilled public health professionals, generate impactful research, and engage with communities to promote sustainable and equitable health outcomes locally, nationally and globally.

Students Learning Objectives (SLOs)

  1. To educate students in public health competencies with an accredited curriculum.
  2. To provide students with community-oriented education and practice opportunities.
  3. To produce competent, committed and skilled public health professionals.
  4. To provide foundation for choosing a relevant Track in Public Health in future.
  5. To prepare a skilled workforce in public health auxiliary and support services
  6. To prepare leadership in public health.
  7. To develop, administer and evaluate health policies and programs.
  8. To participate directly in efforts to improve the health of the community using community-based and health system's assessment of preventive services.
  9. To conduct basic and applied research relevant to the description, rick factor and interventions for the resolution of health problems in the human populations.
