Welcome to the Institute of CS&IT

The Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT) is one of the established constituent units of the Faculty of Sciences, The Women University Multan (WUM). The Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology was established in 2013 with the objective of producing IT professionals to fulfill immediate demand of IT industry by offering program BS in Computer Science. In the year 2014, the Institute started MCS (E) program. In the year 2015, the Institute started BS (IT) program. In addition, the Institute also supports in terms of teaching of Computer Science as a subject in the other departments at undergraduate and graduate level.
The Institute of CS&IT has 10 faculty members (including 01 on study leave, 02 PhD Member and 06 MS/M.Phil.) and more than 500 students enrolled in various degree programs. The Institute, with the current faculty strength of two Assistant Professors, eightlecturers and two lab attendants sufficiently caters to its requisite teaching and research requirements.
The PERN has provided 1 GB bandwidth internet facility to the Institute supported by fiber backbone. The Institute has 03 modern air-conditioned computing labs with multimedia facility and class rooms. We already have planned one hardware Lab and one research lab in this Institute. Moreover, the Institute has access to international journals and research articles through HEC Digital Library. The Institute is connected through a LAN in order to provide modern teaching and learning environment and fast access to the Internet. The LAN caters to many important computing needs of the Institute such as compilers of the popular programming

languages, RDBMS software (Oracle, SQL server), Operating systems (various Windows version), MS Office suite and other necessary software. Furthermore, the Institute has indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi connectivity.

Vision

The global recognition of the program and our students as innovative computer professionals having the tendency to conduct their research and projects independently. Institute of CS & IT shall start MS and ADP programs in upcoming years. Moreover, Institute has planned to establish more hardware computer labs.

Mission

The Mission of the Institute is to provide education in theoretical and experimental foundation of Computing Technology, apply it to solve real world problems and conduct computing & inter-disciplinary research. The programs mission is to deliver the knowledge in computer and information science as evidenced by an understanding of computing systems and science coupled with the capacity to produce feasible and responsible solutions to complex computing problems.

The core intention is to enhance the problem solving and research based skills among students in order to conduct and projects independently. The program also focuses on to provide extensive support, principally via one-to–one supervision of projects students and well integrated. Program amalgamates the availability of environment where students may polish their communication and writing skills which may help them to transform their projects outcomes into project documentation. The learning atmosphere will enable scholars to life-long learning skills as evidenced by the ability, to adapt to innovation and change.

Make valuable contributions in computer science and related engineering or application areas, particularly in software systems and algorithmic methods.
Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to function effectively as part of a team.
