Dr. Najma Usman is currently serving as a Lecturer in Urdu at The Women University Multan, a position she has held since January 2022. She earned her Ph.D. in Urdu from The Women University Multan in September 2023. She completed her M.Phil. in Urdu from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, Pakistan, in 2018, securing First Division. She obtained her M.A. in Urdu from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, in 2015, also securing First Division. She also holds a B.Ed. from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad. Over the course of her academic career, Dr. Najma Usman has made significant contributions to teaching and research supervision. She has successfully supervised 17 M.Phil theses. She has actively participated in professional development activities and has attended 8 national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, and faculty development programmes, reflecting her commitment to continuous academic and professional growth. Dr. Najma Usman’s role at the university encompasses a range of important academic and administrative responsibilities. She has been serving as the Coordinator of the BS Urdu Programme, Department of Urdu, The Women University Multan, since November 2024. She is also a member of the Departmental academic committees and serves as a member of the Board of Studies (BOS), Department of Urdu. In addition, she performs her responsibilities as the Scholarship Focal Person of the Department of Urdu, contributing to the effective facilitation of students and the implementation of academic and administrative processes. Her professional achievements reflect her dedication to academic excellence and personal development. She secured Third Position and a Silver Medal in M.A. Urdu. She is also a Hafiza of the Holy Quran, demonstrating her commitment to religious and academic learning. Furthermore, she has completed her B.Ed. from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad strengthening her professional qualifications in the field of education. With her experience in teaching, research supervision, academic coordination, curriculum implementation, and university administration, Dr. Najma Usman has developed extensive expertise in Urdu literature, higher education, academic management, and institutional development. Her dedication to teaching, research, and student development makes her a valuable contributor to the advancement of higher education and Urdu literary scholarship in Pakistan.
