Dr. Shahida Rasool is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu at The Women University, Multan. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of “Armaghan,” the Research Journal of the Department of Urdu, The Women University, Multan. Despite being visually impaired, she has achieved remarkable academic and professional success and has emerged as a distinguished scholar in the field of Urdu language, literature, higher education, and research. Dr. Shahida Rasool joined the Department of Urdu at The Women University, Multan in 2015 and served as Head of the Department from 1 July 2021 to 19 January 2023. During her tenure, she successfully organized five national and international seminars, significantly contributing to the promotion of academic and research activities at the university. She has made significant contributions to higher education and research supervision. More than forty female scholars have successfully completed their M.Phil research under her supervision, while seven M.Phil scholars are currently working under her guidance. She has also successfully supervised four PhD scholars. Her research contributions include approximately thirty research articles published in national and international HEC-recognized research journals, in addition to one book chapter. She has actively participated as a researcher and paper presenter in more than forty national and international conferences, seminars, and scholarly forums. Dr. Shahida Rasool is the author of two scholarly books:

1. Iqbal ka Tasawur-e-Kashf Apny Khutbaat ki Roshni Mai
2. Waris se Bandagi Tak: Amjad Islam Amjad ky Dramon ka Siyasi aur Samaji Mutala

In recognition of her academic excellence and scholarly services, she has received twelve awards and honours from various educational and literary institutions. In addition to her services at The Women University, Multan, Dr. Shahida Rasool has teaching experience at Punjab College of Commerce, Government Degree College for Special Education Bahawalpur, and FG Margalla College, Islamabad. Through her commitment to teaching, research, and academic mentorship, she has inspired numerous students and scholars across Pakistan. Her academic achievements have been remarkable from the beginning of her career. In 2004, she secured first position in M.A. Urdu from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, obtaining 694 marks and setting a remarkable academic record after a gap of sixteen years in the history of the Urdu Department. She completed her M.Phil from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, and earned her PhD and Post-Doctorate from the International Islamic University, Islamabad. Dr. Shahida Rasool’s academic journey is a remarkable reflection of resilience, academic excellence, and an unwavering commitment to Urdu language and literature. Her contributions to research, higher education, academic leadership, and the empowerment of women through education have established her as an inspiring figure in Pakistan’s academic and literary landscape.
