Dr. Shagufta Hussain, PhD in Urdu Literature, has been a valued member of The Women University Multan since 2013, with an academic career spanning over 4 decades to her claim. She is currently serving as Professor Emeritus. She has also served as the first Pro-Vice Chancellor, Chairperson and Professor of Urdu of The Women University Multan. Throughout her career, Dr. Shagufta Hussain has supervised over 40 MPhil scholars, 5 PhD candidates with 5 further under current supervision. She has also authored 29 research articles which were published in HEC Recognized research journals and published 6 books pertaining to short story translations and Urdu research and Criticism, further cementing her credentials as an authority in Urdu Literature Research. She was also the recipient of the Meraj Khalid Excellent Teacher Award outside her academic career. Dr. Shagufta Hussain has served as Radio Broadcaster for Radio Pakistan, hosting a popular program highlighting the social issues impacting the day to day lives of the citizens of Pakistan. Dr. Shagufta Hussain has also served as a member of various prestigious statutory bodies for almost 20 years, presenting her research articles as a keynote speaker in various national and international conferences
