One day scientific model competition was organized by the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Mattital Campus The Women University Multan .Dr Tahira Younis, Campus Incharge and Chairperson of Department of Biotechnology and Biochemistry was the guest of honour. She inaugurated the ceremony. Dr Mamoona Noreen Chairperson of Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics was the chief organizer. The resource person of the event was Dr Mishal Subhan from Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. The event was sponsored by(Global Marketing Services) GMS and Qarshi Industries Pvt ltd. This model competition covered the basic domains of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Genetics and Biosafety. Various institutes participated in the competition,which included CUVAS (Cholistan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences – CUVAS) and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan. Models were evaluated and top three positions were awarded. Dr. Mamoona Noreen said that this event is organised to build awareness among the students of the biological sciences, to develop basic concepts and latest research trends in Microbiology, Molecular biology and Genetics. She said that visual representation of models and interactive sessions of model explanations and designing will develop enthusiasm and better understanding of science phenomenon in basic domains of biology. Guest of honor Dr. Tahira Younis said that this exhibition was not only a source of motivation for the students but also showcased the applications of the phenomenon they studied in their respective field. The exhibition was attended and appreciated by students and faculty members.
